Mortgage broker help

Hello
I am looking for some advice. My husband and I would like to have an attempt at purchasing a property. I have some historic adverse credit which rules me out for many highstreet lenders. my husbands is perfect and we have a 15% deposit.
We spoke with one mortgage broker who after a couple of conversations I gathered that he was not really into the adverse market. I then did some research about lenders and quickly discovered we def need a broker.
The Dudley Building Society directed us to a company called Homebuyers Helpline. Chap has been great thus far, however what I really wanted to ask is that he has advised that this fee for arranging the mortgage and taking us through to completion is £995.00.
I wanted to get some advice as to whether this is seen as high or reasonable considering our application will probably not be completely straightforward.
I look forward to seeing your replies.
Thanks

It will depend on how bad the adverse is, but in all honesty a Mortgage that has adverse the fee is going to be higher.
On the face of it, that does not seem excessive.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I don't think the fee is unreasonable, assuming the types of lenders they will be dealing with.
So long as you are not paying this upfront and rather on mortgage offer or mortgage completion.I am a Mortgage Broker
