Wanted to canvas opinion on house sale

Adult living at home with my parents - won't go to in depth but wanted to see what you thought of this :
- Couple come to view our house in Jan, neither seemed esp interested esp the lady who didn't even look properly at some bits. We get no feedback on viewing.
- Couple make an offer on March 11th approx after having seen house once for 20 mins in Jan. Quite conservative offer, 2 offers later parents decide to accept. I get vibes of money being tight.
- A little bit after offer guy comes back on his own for 2nd view - turns out he was quite keen, his wife wasn't because she'd want to do stuff to the place. He came in with some detailed qs about fences, boundaries, where gas enters house, had anyone extended, or knocked down trees to extend - all sorts of qs I would ask before an offer was made. He wanted to 'check things out' because place was small. Doesn't seem to want house as it is.
- Mortgage I think has been approved now - but sale almost failed once already because of valuation and a shortfall he had to borrow in end to make up to offer price.
- Our neighbour had 25 complex qs he couldn't understand most of to answer about our residents assoc and we've had a few forms from solicitor and queries otherwise.
- But apart from qs and EA telling us about mortgage issues no updates - I assume we are pretty early on in process, but buyer seems to think he'll be moving end of July time - he also has yet to have a home buyers or full survey done.
- All seems odd to me, it hasn't sat easy with me or some people I've told about it - he seems like a naïve first time buyer even despite his detailed qs second view round.

If the mortgage valuation came in low you're lucky they are happy and able to proceed at the agreed price.
They might not be having a homebuyers or structural survey. It sounds as if the man is handy and capable of assessing the condition himself.
It is normal for a solicitor to raise enquiries with attached bodies such as management companies or residents associations.
I do not understand what you think is strange.
Get on with looking for somewhere to move to, would be my advice.0
