Hi, I understand that if you are in financial hardship you can claim back bank charges. Well I think I fit in the criteria and would like to attempt to claim back. Can anyone tell me if I can claim back "planned" overdraft fees? Or is it just unplanned overdraft fees?
Also I currently have a halifax ultimate reward account I feel I was miss sold, do I have any chance of claiming fees for that back?
Thank you

Hi.
On what grounds do you believe you were mid-sold the bank account ?
If you are in financial hardship, you should write to the bank explaining your circumstances, and ask to be refunded.
All bank charges can be reclaimed should the bank see fit, and you meet the criteria.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Why do you believe you were mis-sold your Ultimate Reward Account?
Have you used any of the benefits provided by the account?
Have you qualified for the lower £10 monthly fee whereby you pay in £750 or more and pay out at least 2 two different direct debits and remain in credit?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. At the time I was sold the account I was on a low income and now I'm not working at all. I get child tax credits which isn't anywhere near £700 and I am always in my overdraft. I was told I would benefit from this account, I haven't claimed on anything apart from once on holiday we used the holiday insurance, so I'm guessing this will stop me from claiming?
So I can claim back "planned" overdraft fees?0 -
