Mortgage advisor advice

I’m after a little advice on where to find a suitable mortgage advisor/broker in the Manchester area.
To explain: I used an outfit in Macclesfield (that was recommended) to me in 2006 as I had issues with proof of income at the time. They arranged a deal with London Mortgage and things have been fine since. I’m now in a position where I’m looking to move and it seems that this company is no longer on the scene. My circumstances are that I’ve had a few issues with debt in the past which will impact on where I apply to next and the high street would not be an option for me. I have been steadily repairing my credit file and am in full-time work and can prove my income.
I’ve just had my house valued and I think worst case scenario is that I would need to borrow between 45,000 and 50,000 to obtain a property worth around 130,000. I’m sure that it’s not allowed on here for me to ask for a mortgage advisor recommendation directly but I really need to sit down with one to see what my options are with regards to which companies could assist me with this. I don’t want to stick a ‘for sale’ sign up and then worry about finding a suitable advisor/broker as I’d like to know precisely where I stand before I go ahead with the sale.
If anyone can give me any pointers or advise on where I should head I would be eternally grateful.
Many thanks for reading this.

You mentioned "issues with debt". Does this mean you have accrued more debt or have had difficulties repaying ? Have you had any defaults in the past 12months, which have been resolved/satisfied, as this will have a bearing on lender selection. You need to definitely talk to an independent mortgage adviser, who can explain your options available..I am a mortgage broker. Have you tried looking on google?
I always suggest just calling up and having a chat with them and seeing how you get on... but that goes for anything, not just brokers.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Google can be your friend here, although be careful on paying no upfront fees. Many advisers/brokers have independent reviews online nowadays.
