Income Form - DLA

Hi, I have now got the forms to go BR and started filling them in. I have a couple of questions which I hope people will not mind helping with, (I suspect I shall have more later!). When I spoke to National Debtline about my debts, at first I wanted to go for a DMP and they said my Disability Living Allowance cannot be counted as income as it is paid for my disability needs. I have no other income than benefits and am not likely to have within the next 5 years at least.

Now that I have been advised to go BR instead can I assume that DLA will be ignored as income in this case too, and can I put on the form as spending "Care needs" and then the full DLA amount?

I have no other income than benefits and my wife has only her carer allowance for looking after me, I was told by someone or read that OR cannot make you pay towards your bankruptcy if your only income is benefits .. is this true? If so, does it mean I need not worry so much about exact figures for expenditure as I am unsure of some of it. I assume if there is no chance of OR making me pay anything then they will not be so concerned about income /expenses, (within reason obviously)

Another question - sorry - Aftwer advice here we converted our new bank account from joint to my wife name only and she now has sole use of it and my benefit is made into it. It was for a month in joint names but is not now. Do I have to list the account as it was in joint names for a few weeks, or can I leave it out altogether on the forms?

Thanks for all your help. I admit I am terrified of all this, (I suffer from mental health problems, have done since 1980 - I get professional help with stuff like this you'd think - think again, just some pills, nothing practical)

Reading this forum HAS been a blessing ... I can even bear the constant phone calls from halifax who are being complete b**d phoning 4 times a day even after I sent them a letter saying not to as I saw on this forum ... oh well, over soon I hope and then i can make a fresh start

My son recieves DLA (he's 8) and we did not even include it on the forms. (Advised not to by the Insolvency Service) Our income includes Child Benefit, Housing Benefit and a large amount of Tax Credits.
We did not receive an IPA/IPO.
