I received this email from crufk@ap.com and need to know if I should be concerned.

Order Acknowledgment

Your Apple ID was used to purchase "Need For Speed GTO for iPad" from the App Store on a device that had not previously been paired or associated with this Apple ID.

This download was initiated from Germany.

Receipt Date: 21/04/2015

Order total: 19,65 GBP

From your login pattern we have reasons to believe it was not you. If you did not authorize this purchase, please visit the iTunes Cancellation Form, otherwise simply ignore this email.

Now as far as I am aware I have not joined the app store and have never bought anything from Apple, ever. Do I need to worry and do I need to report it anywhere.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Such an email would have come from an Apple domain, just ignore it.

and "if" you were stupid enough to click on that link , ITunes cancellation , I think not , more likely ask for your user name and password , in order TO HACK YOUR ACCOUNT

hovering over that link shows http://www.themaygroup.com.au/wp-content/themes/twentytwelve/css/r/index.php

    not exactly iTunes is it?

    http://www.themaygroup.com.au/ , a school/collage who,s computer has been hacked

always hover over the link that is just words , on IE it tells you the true website , and without trying to tell granny how to suck eggs , never log on to a site like a bank/paypal/ebay etc direct from the links , instead close the email , and log on from a normal browser ,
  • Not hacking, just your common or garden phishing attempt.

The link just takes you to a page which predictably asks for credit card details.

Check the email header, ap.com seems to sell audio analyser/audio test equipment.

Guessing the email sender address is a faked one.

Maybe my settings are wrong, but I don't see the "other address" when I hover over the link.

If you hover over the words 'iTunes Cancellation Form' in the OP you should see in the bottom left of your browser the actual page it's linking to. This goes to 'themaygroup.com.au' website and not Apple as you would expect.

    Many thanks.
  • I have received exactly the same e mail at 1:30 today. I thought the e mail look wrong but I did click on the I tunes information form, idiot?? This asked for my bank details so I immediately smelled a rat. I was using an ipad so hovering over the words is not a possibility. I deleted the e mail immediately but not before I sent it to a police website which was sent to me by our local crime prevention officer. This e mail came shortly after the phishing one, how spooky was that. I do know this is a genuine website as I frequently get e mails from this police officer.

It is so worrying that this sort of thing is sent to your e mail address. Would it be a good idea to change my e mail password? I don't want to change my e mail address as I have had it for a long time and it would be very difficult to use another e mail address as all my banks have this one. Would you advise that I should stop using this or just continue being careful what I open?

    Thanks
