Hi
I have been reading other diaries on here and the MFW for a while now but never had the courage to start my own. I have relatively low debts but have always had savings (given to me - very lucky) to bail me out in the past and now my partner and I are lucky to own our very own flat these savings are no more. To ensure that I don't get into further debt now I need to start living within my means and start saving emergency funds as well as clearing two credit cards. My partner and I both enjoy eating out and drinking and I feel that this along with groceries is where I can make most of our savings. Another motivation to clear the debt is that I don't really enjoy my current job and would like to have the funds to know that I won't have to stay there past this year. I'm 27 so have plenty of time to clear and save for future expenses.
Small goals - clear Laura Ashley Credit Car £345 (was £800)
clear Santander CC £647 (0%)
save spending money for holiday £500 by july (my partner has paid for everything else)
save emergency fund of £1000 to stop using credit cards
I now keep my credit cards in the house to stop the temptation for splurges.
thanks for reading and wish me luck! hopefully with I will be on MFW board by the time I'm 30!:rotfl:
