Company Car (Tax code)

in Cutting tax
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out the information on the gov website in relation to company cars.
My partner has just started a new job which basically involves him covering an area from poole to penzance working as holiday cover for store merchandisers. His work mileage is calculated from leaving home in the morning to returning each evening. He has a fuel card to use however the company take the same amount from his wages each month and then pay him 16p per mile for each business mile.
By my calculation this means he is paying for all private miles if he does any (this will be low as we still have our own vehicle).
Considering he must use the van to do his job how should this affect his tax as it seems to me he will now have to pay more tax for having to use a company vehicle to do his job?
Many Thanks

Is the vehicle a car or a van and who owns it?The only thing that is constant is change.0

If it's a company van with logos etc, I wouldn't have thought he's liable for any tax?0

as long as he doesent use it for any personal miles AND the company can proove it (so milage records), no tax is due by him.
My company had drivers of work vans sign a declaration that they would not use the vans for presonal miles, and HMRC have come back saying they want more evidence, and mileage records would be ideal.0
