    How do I play?

    To enter,

Step 1: Download the Make My Day app on your smartphone (iOs or Android). You do not have to pay to download the app.

Step 2: Using the free “unlocked” content within the app choose the city you most want to visit (London, Barcelona, New York City, Paris, San Francisco or Tokyo) and the combination of sights that you would most want to see in that city.

Step 3: Once you have created your perfect day select “Save this day”.

Step 4: Select the share icon and share your perfect day on Twitter along with a description (within the 140 character limit) detailing why this is your perfect day. Make sure you include the hashtag #makemydaylp so that we can find your entry.

You don’t have to buy anything to enter. You can enter between 3pm GMT on 2nd April 2015 and 3pm GMT on 30th April 2015. Your entry is received at the time Lonely Planet receives it. Incomplete and invalid entries will not be accepted. If your entry gets lost in cyberspace or doesn’t arrive for any other reason, that’s not Lonely Planet’s fault.

Lonely Planet might have to extend the dates of the promotion but only if it’s totally unavoidable (for example, if the competition entry page is unavailable for 24 hours or more) and we’ll let you know if we do.

How do you pick the winner?

Rather than consulting tea leaves, the winner’s will be selected by a panel of 3 judges, including an independent judge. Two judges will review all eligible entries, and will select a shortlist of the 25 entries which best describe why their chosen perfect day is the perfect day. The third (independent) judge will then select the best overall entry. This unenviable task will happen in a small, dark room at 240 Blackfriars Road, London SE1 8NW, on 5th May 2015 (or at an undisclosed location otherwise determined as required by Lonely Planet. The judges’ decision is final (so there!) and no correspondence will be entered into, even if you think that sucks. Lady luck has nothing to do with this promotion.

    What can I win?

First prize: The winner will have the ability to make their perfect day a reality with:

a Skyscanner voucher worth GBP£2000 which the winner can use to book flights and accommodation on Skyscanner’s website; and
a GBP£250 money card from postoffice.co.uk provided by Lonely Planet which the winner can use to book tours and activities.
4 Runner Up prizes: each runner up will receive a complete set of the six print editions of Lonely Planet’s Make My Day flipbook series – approximate retail value GBP£35.94 per set of Make My Day Books.

Total prize value is approximately GBP£2393.76. These prize values are accurate at the start of the promotion.
