Application all agreed in principle, valuation done, all
Ok. Was then expecting the mortgage but now referred to underwriter.

Might have this wrong but I thought every mortgage goes through a final underwriting stage where a senior underwriter will double check everything is ok and nothing has been missed by the team of people involved to that point.. The underwriter has the final say shouldn't be anything to worry about0 -
It's good news because it means you have got through the preliminary checks. It doesn't mean that you will be approved though, you just have to wait and see
