Thank you so much for this. I told my DH that I thought there was a 'Take your dog to work day' and he did not believe me! I had not got round to looking for details.

(We don't even have a dog, but we were having this discussion after a volunteer brought their dog to my work the other day!)

BTW, if you are thinking of doing this, it migh be friendly to check if anyone who works close to you is allergic to dogs. DH is, quite severely, and he struggles to breathe in the same room as most dogs, even using his inhalers, and this makes him quite unproductive.

DH thinks this is a windup. Would someone please tell him it is NOT! Just because he's been emotionally scarred by his contacts with cats and dogs in the past, and has never heard of the Blue Cross, honestly!

He's now got us all :rotfl:at this page because he wants to know why there's a picture of the Bond cat under a 'Take your dog to work day' banner, and who's planning to take their horse to work this year?

I can't do anything with him now ...

It's an annual event which I believe is quite successful. It is in aid of The Blue Cross charity which is not just for dogs.
Perhaps THIS will help to convince him.
    Hope this helps.icon7.gif

I will show him, but I think he's going to be stubborn about this ... I, on the other hand, had heard of the event, probably because I listen to Woman's Hour and things like that. He's just not that fond of cats and dogs, I'm afraid (but a surprisingly decent bloke despite that!)

My Hubby has taken our dog to work everyday for the last 41/2 years (he's a countryside ranger so it's quite easy on both of them). He always promotes take your dog to work day & it's suprising the number of people, inculding dog owners, who don't believe it even when they see the offical posters & collecting tin!

In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!
