Oh I see. I hope you don't think I was being a know it all.
I only messaged them trying to help as I have run a page in the past and would want to know. But I see your point and I am sorry if I was annoying.0 -

when i pointed this out to one company they said we're anot asking for you to tag even though it was stated in their blurbWhat goes around-comes around0 -

I simply click "Like" on the post
then write "liked & shared" ....... (so they can comment if I win)
I NEVER "Like" any company pages, and I NEVER share any posts or pages
and I have won 4 FB L&S comps this month
you have to remember that the company has no way of knowing whom has liked their page and who hasn't - they can also not check everyone that shares the post due to FB privacy settings.
That's really interestingI didn't realise it was difficult for them to check.
I haven't been entering comps on FB for long and at first I shared a few without realising the setting was set to "friends", but then I saw a comp that said make sure your share settings are set to "public" so that we can see you've shared (I didn't realise that they didn't have some sort of "internal" way of checking - I know sounds a bit silly now!), so I guess I'd just assumed all/most companies did check, but clearly that's not the case
I guess I thought the company could call up a list of names, from their profile, of who had shared the post, but if the only way they can actually check you've shared is to look at your timeline then (whether you've actually shared or not) if you have a busy timeline and the comp wasn't recent they wouldn't be that bothered (or have the time) to check anyway.0 -
If you have to have the shared posts set to public, they don't need to check their records, they can just look at your page to see if it's there.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
If they are bothered they don't then need to check thousands just the one picked as a potential winner.0

Not forgetting there are some people i.e. other compers on fb who check/nose at profiles to see if winners are legit and will start shouting if a winner hasn't actually shared something...0
