YTD figures wrong on payslips

Hi all,
My husband started a new job in July 2014 and on his first payslip his YTD Gross pay said: £235.16 but his gross pay for that week was £99.98 - so obviously that YTD figure was wrong.
My husband has brought this up with his company a few times, that the YTD figures don't add up.
Now I've just been looking at all his payslips again, because I wanted to know exactly how much he earned in the past tax year because I was worried I had told tax credits that he earned less than he actually did (meaning we'd owe them money). Anyway, I noticed that in one of the weeks his YTD went from £2011 to £3330 the next week, that's £1300 difference in one week!!! If only he'd earn that much in a week!! :rotfl:
Like I said, he has brought the whole YTD issue up with his company before but they haven't done anything about it and said it should balance out by the end of the tax year - which I think is BS!
But the difference between the YTD figures his company has given us on his wageslips and me adding up all his gross pay per week is about £1400. Which makes a difference for our tax credits, as with their numbers we'll be just under what I told them he would earn this year, whereas with my figures he would've earned about £1400 less than what I've told tax credits.
His company also had the wrong NI number on his payslips for a long time, it wasn't until a while ago that we noticed, but they've corrected that!
Personally I think his company should get someone else in to do their payroll for them, but it used to be a family business (and the owners still see it that way, eventhough it's too big now to really be a family business) - 3 brothers own the business - and their mum (who's probably 70+) does their payroll!! Obviously not very well!!
I guess after this long story, my question is: What do we do about this if my husband gets his P60 and his figures still aren't right?? What do we do if the company won't correct the mistakes?? I'm sure it's probably affecting the amount of tax he pays aswell as with their figures he's earned just over £13k and with mine just over £12k.

I think you should be able to contact HMRC if there is an underpayment/overpaymentally.0

Do the nett payments (after deduction of tax, NI, any pension) shown on the payslips tally with what has been received? Is it paid by bank transfer or cheque or is it cash?0

Yeah I'm pretty sure the Nett payments add up, I haven't checked tbh, but I will once I get the payslips back. My husband spoke to his manager (rather than going straight to the owners) and he agreed with him that things weren't right so he is gonna try and sort it out.
He's paid by bank transfer.0 -
what was on the P450

Is he in a pension scheme? There might be two figures, gross, and gross taxable (i.e. less pension)0
