Will tax credits count towards income?

My partner and I are looking to into getting a mortgage only our income is quite low. Which means we won't be able to borrow much on my partners income alone. I currently don't work as I have two small children. We get tax credits and child benefit which if considered an income would boost how much we could get a mortgage for. The only thing is is that I'm not sure if this counted as an income and the money goes to myself rather than my partner. So if this does count as an income does it make a difference that I receive the tax credits but my income is £0.
I did a quick online check with Santander but looked as though the tax credits counted if my partner had them or if I had an anual income if I have them. Which i don't.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

It depends on the lender.
Also, when a leader does accept them theres often a limit as to how much in relation to the earnt income.
I would suggest you do a full fact find with a broker to find out whats whatI am a Mortgage Adviser

You can get them accepted by they often cause issues as the earned income stated in the award statement is rarely accurate.
