Me and my ex still own a house together - could use some advice please.

Hi all, I could use some advice...
Me and my ex own a house, jointly. Unfortunately the relationship finished, amicably enough though, and she moved out some months back. She kept paying her half of the mortgage for a while in order to maintain her stake in it, with the plan for it to be sold later in the year. Unsuprisingly, she started to find it hard to pay that as well as her own living costs and bills and whatnot. She recently proposed that she stop paying that, and I get the house valued now. This would be considered the value of the house at the point at which we come to sell it - any increase in value between this point and the point of sale would go to me. Does this seem sensible? I must admit I've never been very 'at home' (excuse the pun) thinking about mortgages and stuff, but I need to start thinking about it now. Would be grateful for any friendly advice about this kind of situation, similar experiences, and relevant info...
Thanks!
Alex

You need to start negotiating a compromise. Seems reasonable to obtain a valuation at the point when your partner stopped contributing as an opening gambit.
Alternatively you can calculate the amount of capital you've repaid since that date.0
