Can someone please tell if NRPs must pay maintenance if they are in full time study?
I've read on this forum they don't but someone told me today that they do.

They do based on income.0

Is there a threshold that the NRP must be earning? I've just read you can ask for a variation if the NRP earns more than £100 a week. My case is post 2003 but we're not on the new gross income scheme yet.0

It depends what is meant by "full time study".
A student (defined as a person who is engaged in a full time course with a higher educational establishment) is liable for the nil rate.
But a part-time student does not have limited liability, and privately organised, self-imposed, study doesn't count.0 -

A full time student, doing a full time course that's not privately organised or funded...if this is a nil rate then will they consider income from a p/t job/ student loans etc if a variation is requested?0 -
Income from work, yes. Grants and loans, no. Under 2003 scheme, it would have to be under a variation application for "income not taken into account" and the income has to be over £5200 a year.I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.0

Ethically, yes they should pay, as children don't stop costing money just because the NRP decides they want to become a student!!0
