wild garlic in woods free food!!

Been harvesting wild garlic from the woods now for a few weeks and have made delicious wild garlic soup/pesto/pasta sauce etc It tastes great and is so easy to prepare and can be cooked as spinach too.

Its all leaves at the moment which can still be used of course great in garlic butter, I am contemplating freezing a lot but I've not tried freezing it before.0

had it for the first time last year and love it,i make
garlic butter
garlic oil
add it too soups and stews
i also chop and freeze the stalks and leaves separately for use later in the year.smudgie:)0 -
Please do not uproot it in the wild though, as it is covered by the Wildlife and Countryside Act. Always leave enough leaves for the plant to grow......even if there seems so much no one would ever notice.
It is easy to grow in your own garden under a hedge or under the raspberries on the allotment.
I make a very nice flan with them.0 -

Can be grown from seed...chiltern seeds....
or from a friends garden....lift a spadeful and replant in a slightly shady place...they grow naturally under beech trees....and they will spread slowly.
Mostly used for the leaves....just leave them be and pick leaves for a few weeks in spring. I think the flowers are very pretty and are nice on salad.0 -
Wild garlic is very-very tasty as a salad with sour cream. As I remember wild garlic contains vitamin C.0

You may also like to try, from seed, garlic chives
Like bog standard chives, but garlicky, and nice white flowers the insects love
Self seed, no bulb, just use the leaves
