Couch to 5k on crosstrainer?

HI,

Is it possible to do a couch to 5k programme on a cross trainer? Due to previous spinal surgery about 14 years ago ( L5/S1 disc removed) I am unable to use a rowing machine or jog - Orthopaedic surgeon instructions and when I try jogging my foot goes numb ( bad sign!).
He gave me the all clear to go to the gym, horse ride etc many years ago.
I would like to improve my health and have a cross trainer at home, but only use it sporadically.
Any ideas or links to sites etc very welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Why don't you just join the couch to 5k thread and state that you're doing it on the cross trainer?

I know how you feel, I always injure myself when I run, my ankles and knees are very weak, so always go onto the cross trainer.
