Relief Already

I joined today, and have read a few debt free wannabe diaries, and the relief already that I can get myself out of this situation I find myself in :-) I have built up credit card debts helping my daughter with a small business (that has now dissolved) and clearing our joint credit card each month when I hadn't kept enough by to pay it off like hubby would want, so by deceipt to my husband really which feels awful. I've taken out a life insurance as am hoping this is the only way hubby would find out about the debts I have built up, and then they'd be covered. More recently I've been worrying that if I should fall ill and not be able to earn (I'm a self employed bookkeeper....yes bookkeeper !!) how would I pay these credit cards off each month ? have now embarked on a plan using Money Saving Expert tools and intend to rid myself of these debts and deceipt to my husband asap...it even feels better writing it out in my diary, so thank you money saving expert for the opportunity to put this right

  • made a good start today, used the minimum repayment calculator and was horrified to find out would take me 34 years to pay back at an interest cost of over £10,000 !!! so by paying an extra £100 back a month (and cutting back on daily costs) it will only take me 3 years at an interest cost of £2,300, what a huge difference !!! I've been paying back the minimum for ages... what a waste
