Happy Sunday everyone! Have you all got beautiful sunshine like me?

I didn't have a chance to get handwash (knew I wouldn't) but I did manage to order during the second Achica glitch. Candles, pillow cases etc. Thanks to PD for the heads up on FB.

Who is reporting David? Report me instead, I'm not even on here anymore so makes no never mind to me. Is FC ok? I saw something about a hospital visit? :(

I've missed you guys- tell me what's happening with you!

My achica order was cancelled (second glitch)... paypal was refunded but I don't recall getting an achica email.. just checked: no cancellation email just the paypal one.

I got a confirmation email and money has gone out from PayPal so fingers crossed!

Ladbrokes claim finally went through on TCB. £5 bet and £30 cashback. Better late than never but I don't really like TCB anymore. Had to keep setting up claims for everything. Quidco much better.

    Morning all.
..Hmmmm, thi isnt fair. I could not be bothered to do any orders the first time, but did a few under the second glitch....and have had my paypal refunded. Perhaps it is my own fault for being lazy and using my paypal account for all the orders, instead of using different cards. Hey ho. :o

Posted before I got to this, but I also paid by paypal and also had it refunded.

so I have been branching out a bit aided by a thread on Paid to shop and the Head for Points webpage. This is an experiment Ive not done before

Firstly I enrolled in Hilton Honours

    https://secure3.hilton.com/en/hh/customer/join/joinHHonors.htm

you have to have an email address you have not used before which is annoying as it recognized my main one.

Make a note of your HH number - this is crucial.

You can download the app or apply for a card in the post - I did the latter but I suppose I can do the app after the card arrives.

Then go to Topcashback, log in and go to

Barclaycard Hilton HHonors Platinum Visa Cashback

and apply for one of the credit cards.

The first thing it asks for is your HH number so don't start this process without it

After applying £26.26 will show in the pending column on your topcashback account page very quickly - its supposed to then go to confirmed in 60 days

    This cashback offers finishes today

    It also says

"Earn a free night in a Hilton Hotel when you spend £750 in the first 90 days "

so if your normal credit card bill is usually £250 or more a month then this equates to the £750 spend over 3 months.
After you reach the target you then you get sent a code which gives a free Hilton hotel stay - I think you have to book over the phone and you have to stay within 3 months . On PTS they have used their free nights for stays in some exotic places.

so have a look at the calendar and think about the timing. I will probably do all of my spending by month 2, June so when my code arrives Ive got July to September to book and nothing on the calendar so I can be flexible.
You might have to do all of your spending close to the end of the three months to fit in with other commitments and to give you better months to use your hotel code.

Applying for the credit card is quite simple but there is a lot of pages to read so don't do it with the cat on your keyboard, children howling to be fed, 2 sparrows have come down the chimney, there is a stray vicar on the doorstep or there is a tea towel alight in the kitchen :rotfl:

Applying for a credit card goes onto your credit rating so be aware - Ive not applied for anything other than the new Marks accounts for months.

Ive done one card application for me and one for OH so we can get 2 free nights.
I did mine yesterday and it let me set up the direct debit to pay bills in full but its not let me do this on OHs, have to wait for cards to come this week now to register etc.

It looks straight forward. Most of my spends at the mo go onto my nationwide CC card which gives me 5% cashback in December, a few odds and ends on the marks and sainsburys nectar cc card just to keep them valid and active. My Ikea cc card I use maybe 3 or 4 times a year.
so instead all spends will be on this new card now when it arrives.
