    Evening Elite!

Popped and bought some play wipes after work and used an under the radar APG of £4.75 from a receipt of £28. The checkout operator had to get someone over to authorise it. Said they were having to do that now. Will have to be a tad careful to keep under the radar. Going to have tea now and catch up with everyone's day. More later folks.

Is this an APG from the new site, that requires approval for any amount to be entered (as they don't scan)? Or is this now happening with old-style vouchers? TIA.

Evening all - the wind has been blowing a gale all day :(

We have been to London and back on the train and had a very lovely day with eldest child. We had breakfast at the Rocket near Euston went to the Sky Gardens, then along the DLR to Greenwich to see the Cutty Stark and the maritime museums and had pie and mash lunch :D

    Time to read back ...

Good evening. In some stores the tills are set differently - in one near me, any value voucher at the main tills needs a supervisor to authorise it as well as the checkout operator. At the SS in that same store, it only requires the self scan assistant. In others near me it only requires the checkout operator or SS assistant no matter what the value.

Good evening Savvy, those New! blue signs have appeared all over the store next to any of the products that have been replaced (generally downsized!). The Bold and others in that section are awash (:)) with them, so are others where we have had rtc recently.

Muggles will no doubt love it and will try the New! products, few realising they are paying for a package redesign or less weight/volume in their product.

Yet another of their tricks! New lower pack size!:(

On that last sentence, I knew there was something to it!

As I said, I couldn't find any "New!" products that showed an mbuy, but turns out useless looking anywy as my stores never display any of the mbuys!

Talk about totally cynical though and putting positive light on everything - never mentioning any price increases, only ever having previous higher price when it's gone down (generally merely back to where it was before there was a price increase) and, oh, the other one I forgot until now... I don't know if anyone else's A petrol station is currently displaying no prices on the big signage they have that's visible from outside the forecourts.

I noticed... yes, the big signage with all the prices has been switched off a few days ago. I wondered... could this mean yet another price increase on fuel? Having parked my car on the car park, I walked up to the petrol station and looked for the price one of the pumps and, sure enough, yes indeed the price has been increased by another 1p again:(. At that, I frowned and I wasn't going to be buying any petrol from them right then!:p This was the weekend (still the same blank display now) but holding my hopes as it's now becoming mid-week that the price just might come down. If not, it's the new higher price everywhere anyway. Few people, I suspect, once they have already arrived at the petrol station would get out, see the price on the pump and then get back in their car again, after saying 'no that's too high'! Once they are on the forecourt, they are there and virtually paying for it anyway, so too late for many people! Seems the price increase was one too far for them and that the petrol station really did not want to be advertising loudly its new price! Seems that my Mr A is now too embarrassed to show the price on its big hoarding! It does not have to, of course, but can instead just show the price on the individual pumps. So that's what they've done. I'm sure if the price had been close to £1.05 again they would have kept it on display in the large prominent display! Either that or the display has malfunctioned - but... just seems strange...!

That's now at least 6p on over a few months, and cancels out all of the reductions earlier in the year that their PR were shouting about! Yet again, it has to be done incrementally, a cynical one penny at a time as the ultimate outcome - a six or seven penny a litre increase:eek: - would have been totally unacceptable for the general public to have swallowed! Even though, cynically, the same result has now been achieved:(:(.

I 'knew' the pricing at A would go up, as I noticed the previous day the Mr S nearby (as opposed to the Mr S that's just one mile too far away from an A that is always, cynically, 1p a litre more expensive than the other Mr S:mad:) had increased its price so that Mr A could not possibly remain more than a penny a litre cheaper for too long:mad::(:(! Just cannot find it within themselves can they?... these legitimate profit-chasing companies!!:rotfl:
