So I'm back from my visit to school. I think (hope) that it was a success.
I had to sit with he SENCO and another member of staff facing 6 embarrassed looking (when they weren't looking at the floor) 13/14 year olds. They all looked rather shocked when she told them I was DS2 mum. She explained to them what autism was and how it affects people.
I then explained to them how it affects DS2 specifically and how much of a struggle things have been and still are for him on a daily basis. I told them that I know he's a bit different, maybe even a bit weird and possibly annoying sometimes but that I like him that way. I told them they don't have to be his friend, just leave him alone to get on with his day.
I will admit I was saddened to find out exactly what had been going on and by so manybut kids that age do push their luck and join in without thinking.
If even one of them can stop and think about what they're doing in the future then it was worth it.
That was the first time school have tried that approach to bullying. So I'm a pioneer0 -

I can't find the post now
Maybe she posted the pictures I asked her to and it had to be deleted due to being highly obscene :think:Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
Good Afternoon:)still undecided about the boiler as the report had not gone in when I rang this morning but the lady told me they do give you £250 towards a new one on receipt of proof you are having one .It is 15years old and the last couple of winters had to have the insurance people out to do repairs so I am thinking its probably been on it's way out for a while;) bit like Nannylala:rotfl::rotfl:Son -in-law will sort something I am sure when I am ready.
Been out for a little stroll with trollie in tow and just to say the M&S meal deal is on ,probably because it's the Bank Holiday coming up.
I got a large Oakham Chicken
Swede and Mash
Lemon Tart
and a bottle of Red so I am sorted for a couple of days:T0 -

Something really strange going on with the APG. I did a shop 2 days ago with Shades and carver ham and Shopitize items, had 9 items on the receipt which all should have been fine. APG came up with "not enough items"
I tried it again today and it now works! :T I'm still on the old APG system (both times) so haven't a clue what this is all about, just glad I got my voucher.
So the moral is, the system has different results on different days!
I used the old system with a womble with 22 items on it. Came back as not enough items, day after it was fine?Weird.0 -
