Thank you for confirming - I bought some Cumberland this evening (feeling lucky ... or reckless!) so you have saved me staying up to check the apg. As you say, there may be another XBay described as Thick or maybe it is one of those double entry ones and the rubbish S offer is being picked up.

I've returned from my little jaunt to the father land I'm knackered! I left before 6am this morning, did my doings and got back in time for the school run.

My day has had a strange turn of events though! I received a call from DS2 school whilst I was out. It was in regard to what they referred to as 'low level bullying' I don't have all the details yet but it seems a group of children have been caught picking on/bullying DS2. I wasn't ready for the next part though. School have asked me if I would go in and sit down with these children and talk to them about Autism and how it affects DS2. I've never come across such a strategy before and I'm not really sure what to think. Not had time to get my head round it They wanted me to do it today but as I was nearly 200 miles away, that wasn't an option :eek: so it's happening tomorrow.

I've never been a running to school, all guns blazing every time someone says something negative to him sort of parent. I accept that he'll have negative experiences because he's different but this situation would appear to be a bit more than that.

There are 5 of them so I'm feeling a bit daunted but I am keen to do it. Getting angry isn't going to solve the situation but enlightening kids who are probably ignorant rather than nasty might.

Sorry for long post. You people are the only adult ears I have access to at the moment :A

In my day, no-one knew I had autism (apart from possibly me for about one week) and I was bullied quite a lot - doubtless because I behaved slightly differently to everyone else, although I didn't even realise that I did at the time. I've come out of it quite well - bizarrely, things in adulthood, which weren't personally about me, affected me more long-term.

Anyway. I'm not always so sure (but then I'm never "sure" about anything - as a pure technicality) about informing people you have autism. Because it then gives the opportunity to people who are nasty to use it to their advantage against you - they know you don't have negotiation skills and can use that fact to their advantage. I also have trouble sometimes working out people's intentions - and, again, those with bad intentions can use that knowledge, that you are autistic, in their favour by taking advantage of you when they know that you might not realise that that is their intention.

On the other hand (and I know I've written far more just now about the downside), if people generally are not intentionally nasty, then knowing you have autism can be a great advantage as they understand you better and are less likely to make fun or pick on you because of your differences. It helps create understanding (although I've nowadays always found it weird that people would need to "understand" me, when, it seems to me, everything I do is completely logical and right and I can't really understand how people would need to understand something that was so straightforward. Obviously, everyone else is on another planet and I'm right:rotfl::rotfl:)!

Best of luck whatever the situation. I wouldn't worry about, or take any notice of, what I've said here. I think I'd go along with what the school suggested - seems to be a good idea. But what do I know, and I wouldn't go there 'all guns blazing' and, as I am sure, you won't do that anyway. These things come naturally to you, I think!:rotfl:

Ooo, that is a good one!:T:T The Cumberland sausages even better than I thought! I hadn't really caught up with it on here but had the impression it was standard 2 for £2 for the competitor - that itself didn't used to be that bad - but this one is excellent! Sainsbugs are having some good offers on:D:D. Wonder what's come over them?!?:rotfl:

They seem to be behaving a bit like Father Christmas, but of course they are not. It is anything but. They're probably losing market share and this is simply here to try to get people back! The offer on the sausages is supposed to be on until 19th May, so we could have some time to run with this yet! Excellent price. Smashes Lidl and Morrisons out of the water.

Pork Sausages are both vs 2 for £3, and Thick Irish Sausages also against 2 for £3 as well (all according to msm.co.uk) - so, stick to Cumberland Sausages for the future alright?;):cool:
