    Good afternoon all....

Quick catchup from last night...and thanks to all who made suggestions about the timer button on my oven...
Although I do feel I do need to clarify the situation a little so I dont get seen as a total freak...
The button is on the oven in the rental property so in a way its quite important for the tenant to have one....I do pride myself as a good LL and wouldnt expect them to do without it....cost is important to me but so is providing the tenant a fully functioning appliance ....so if that had meant removing the oven that may have had to have been the case.

if the oven had been in my house...I personally wouldnt have gven a monkeys about the button but a tenant who pays rent in my book is different.

I have come up with a solution which involves buying 2 smaller buttons and cutting/ glueing them to produce a longer one that will fit the discontinued model

For some reason yesterday things got on top of me and the small problem seemed to escalate into something far bigger than it actually was...not helped by the fact that even as a grown woman with a family of my own it really made me miss my dad who would have sorted it out in his usual "dad way"...
I think FC made a reference overnight to missing departed loved ones at odd times....this was a time I certainly missed mine.

Hugs to tiny for yesterday....and congrats to Zippy!

Anyway today is a new day and I'm feeling bit more positive even though I've spent most of the morning with a heating engineer whos trying to fix the boiler in the flat...

bring on a glitch please glitch fairy I need something to take my mind of RL!

I don't object to having foreigners in the country so long as they integrate. We have a lot if Nepalese locally and they do NOT integrate, the men don't let the women learn English so it has put a lot of pressure on local services.

Refugees should be allowed, economic migrants should be kicked out.

Our population has grown way too much, doctors, schools and hospitals cannot cope, specially when it costs so much to deal with them when you include interpreters etc. Water shortages are becoming more prevalent too - simply not enough to go around.

I know a lot of people will disagree, but I think we should put the 'country full' signs up until such time as we have processed all the illegal immigrants. And all the bleading hearts that say they have done nothing wrong? They are ILLEGAL immigrants because they know they would most be allowed in if they asked.

And now another bag of worms has been opened - it has been ruled that full face veils will be allowed in court. A lot of what our court system is based on is the judgement the court can make based on hearing testimony and seeing the face. It is easy to lie with your face covered.

Right, putting my soapbox away and fully expecting to have my head torn off.

Not commenting specifically what you said ...

You know Enterprise this is the one thing I have always loved about this forum and the anonymous avatars etc. (no offence Emmap and emerald and SFSBs belly)

I like NOT knowing what colour, creed , nationality, religion, persuasion, fat, thin, tall, small, every one is. Its wonderful, none of that matters there is no fights about it because no one knows.

It allows for converstations where the only judgement is on what a person has said and well it allows the imagination to run wild. :T:T
