Hi,
County court judgments do not get statute barred, however, If it was issued in 2001, and they have taken no action, then they would need to go back to court in order to enforce it.
In all likelihood a judge would take the view that 14 years was long enough to enforce there rights, and they have failed to do so, and most likely throw out the case.
I would suggest sending a letter, to that effect, to them, and see how they respond.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Debt is denied and the CCJ is out of enforcement time in any case if it were mine, which I do not think it is is all you need to tell them.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

Its a common sense letter really, something along the lines of :
Dear Robbers way,
Re Acc No : xxxxxxxxx
Thank you for the information regarding the CCJ registered in 2001.
I would regard this judgement as been out of time, I take the view that 14 years is sufficient time in which to exercise your rights, and you have failed to do so.
I also believe a court would side with my view on this, therefore your claim is denied.
I await your conformation this matter is now closed.
yours sincerely
That should be sufficient, also a DMP is a debt management plan.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Yes, see how they respond, they will know they are chancing there arm here, due to the passage of time, they will be banking on the fact you are unaware of the time limits involved, and pay up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
