Hi All,
I have had a good read of peoples experiences with these cowboys and I am ready to fight my PCN.
I parked on private land next to the Metrolink station in Manchester. There is a sign which reads 'free parking for Metrolink customers' Of which I was one. I have kept my ticket for the Metrolink. If is that if the vehicle is left out of Metrolink running times, Care-Parking slap the PCN on you! Nice of Metrolink to endorse this to their paying customers. The land is owned by transport for Greater Manchester and Metrolink stood by care parking, when I telephoned them to complain.
So, I have read the processes involved for the challenge but I wanted a little advice.
I have visited the Care-parking website, where there are 4 photos of my vehicle. They have literally taken the car and nothing else. The photographs could have been taken anywhere and there are no Metrolonk signs or evidence to support it was on their land.
Before I kick the appeal process off - should I challenge them to at first prove my vehicle was on their land? I've no doubt they will be able to do this but if they cant, surely it flops at the first hurdle? 4 Photos of my car is all they have on the site.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely,
Ant.

good to see you started your own thread at last, please dont post in others, thanks
as for this one, querying issues only leads to running out of time to appeal, they will delay you until its out of time
stick to the correct procedures
appeal a postal NTK , using the template letter in the NEWBIES sticky thread
then , when you get a popla code, use a recent popla appeal from others trapped by care on the mcr tram system to appeal to popla, using similar wording
you will find several recent popla examples on here you can adapt and use
but if you have a postal NTK, appeal with the template letter only
if you havent received a postal NTK yet, wait , then appeal
keep it simple (K.I.S.S.) - by following the same path as all those before you
its cancel or popla code, nothing else matters0 -
Thanks Redx - Its been a long time since I've posted, so apologies on forum etiquette. Thanks for the reply.0

Ps I've not received the NTK as of yet. Quick question, I will be away for 10 days soon - if i haven't received it and the PCN goes over the 28 day period, will this have an affect on the outcome of my appeal.
Thanks again.

it should arrive between day 29 and day 56 , then you have 28 days to send the template letter to them (with free certificate of posting at the PO)
after 28 days from the NTK date the appeal time will expire0 -
OK thanks again - fingers crossed these cowboys wont receive a penny from me
Thank you.0 -
It'll be interesting to see if they try to claim they can hold the Registered Keeper liable under the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. Let us know if they do.
