Is it ok to speak with multiple brokers?

Is there any harm in me speaking with multiple brokers provider I don't do multiple mortgage applications...

...everything I read says that I shouldn't be forced to have a "meeting" with xyz, but if I have the time, it can only be beneficial right to see if they can get a better deal?

    So long as you are upfront and honest about it and no scoring done, then no harm.

    That said the more experienced (typically busier) brokers may choose not to waste their time on this sort of deal.

    Deals can change on a daily basis. So speaking to a broker today and then another tomorrow is like comparing apples and oranges.

    Personally I would never give a client a definitive rate until we were ready to put in an application. Main reasons for this is that a general chat over the phone does not give me all the information required, rates can change and we do not know the exact purchase price.

    I would say there is no harm in speaking to multiple brokers but do it to fin a broker you like and get on with - its presumably the biggest purchase of your life so a deal saving you £5 a month being submitted by a useless broker is prbably not the best idea.

    There could also be reasons why a broker does not go with the cheapest - service standards are poor, they may ask a question that enables them to discount a certain lender from experience etc etc.
