Jacobs Enforcement Agents

Options
Hi all.

Hope someone would be able to help me out. Last Friday our previous landlord called my husband and asked to come around as there was some important letter. He went and found a letter which apparently was delivered by hand and stated that withing 24 hr they will come and remove the goods. This was completely out of the blue. We haven't seen any letters in the past nor someone at the door. Now we don't live at the address since last November, but we had brilliant relationship with previous landlord, he always used to pass all the correspondence to us plus we had all our post delivered to our new address. I spoke with the agent named on the letter and managed to get hold of the head office to request the break down of the fee they charging us, but I cannot understand how come there was no letters, we haven't received any of them hence we didn't knew whats going on. Has anyone has any advice of how to deal with that?
By the way, they acting on behalf of Lancashire parking, for the parking fee.

On the one and only letter that we have says Lancashire parking LQLCC. I have spoke to the agent and the guy from the head office, I've requested a letter of detailed breakdown fees of what they charging us, but received a letter with some fees, completely unclear, so I've send a request again, by email, now just waiting for the response. So far what I've seen on the threads and over number of different forums it doesn't add up at all what they charged us and what some people saying their fees should be.

This is what they provided me with:

Re: Road Traffic 1, due to: Lancashire Parking - LQLCC

We are writing following your query raised regarding the fees charged on your account.

The fees we raise are not set by ourselves or the Council, they are set by Parliament. Please see

the Taking Control of Goods (Fees) Regulations 2014.

The Compliance Stage Fee of £75.00 is raised when we receive your case from the Council. The

Compliance Stage provides you with the opportunity to make contact with us to make full

payment, or to discuss an arrangement. An Enforcement Agent will not visit your property during

this stage. We must issue you a Notice of Enforcement during this stage and allow at least 7 clear

days from issue of the Notice before we visit. The Compliance Stage Fee is charged on each case

we receive for you, even if they are received at the same time.

The Enforcement Stage Fee of £235.00 is raised upon the first visit to your premises by an

Enforcement Agent. Your case will have moved to the Enforcement Stage either because you

failed to contact us within the specified timescale, or because you have defaulted on any

arrangements you have made with us. For larger balances and multiple cases, please note an

additional fee of 7.5% of the debt over £1,500 is charged on top of the £235.00.

The Sale Fee of £110.00 is raised when we have taken control of your goods and attend to

arrange for those goods to be removed. For larger balances and multiple cases, please note an

additional fee of 7.5% of the debt over £1,500 is charged on top of the £110.00.

All of the above information is available for the public to view on websites such as

As the fees are prescribed under the above regulations, we are unable to reduce or cancel any

    charges raised.

    Yours faithfully

    Jacobs

The fees of £75 and £235 are correct. The reminder should be what the council are charging for their parking fine.

There might be a £7 charge in there too

Have you checked with the council to find out the history of this?
