Hi,
We are about to finish our 2 year fixed rate 4.79% Term = 16yrs
Monthly = £693.00
Current Mortgage = £92500
Do we go for a 2 year tracker with £499 arrangement fee at 6.20% (0.45% above base rate) with fee on mortgage £762.06/month
Or a 2 year fixed at 6.89% with £499 arrangement fee on mortgage = £797.32/month
I'm thinking that their wont be that many more interest rises so maybe go with the tracker rate?
My wife has just be made redundant and I'm thinking with sticking with our current Halifax provider as it would be easier with no proof of earnings etc.
Is this a good deal?
Many thanks for your help

If you also have a halifax current account they are offering a tracker at 0.21% below base rate for 3 years (currently 5.54%) with £699 fee... Not sure if this is available to existing borrowers but they keep phoning me to tell me about it!!!
Other than that Halifax just don't seem that competative, well at least not for me, at the moment!0
