Thanks, yes I buy online, but I prefer to buy off the shelf and look and feel and choose.
Do any super markets have sprouts and beans and seeds? maybe in whole food sections, oe world food sections?
what to ask for when asking a member of staff?HTB = Help to Bubble.0 -
Just ask for which particular bean/seed you want.
I don't remember seeing alfalfa seeds in supermarkets, but they do have a selection of seeds and beans in the wholefood/world food aisles.
Alternatively, have you tried Holland and Barrett or other health food shops?0 -
Holland and Barrett sell these - http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/just-wholefoods-organic-sprouting-mix-60081436
I usually have a box in for sprouting at at £1.79 they are not badly priced. They contain a seperate bag of alfalfa and a bag of mixed beans - aduki, mung, chick peas, and lentils.0 -

I saw chia seeds in my local mid-sized Mr T today. They were in the section with imported foods from Poland, China and the Carribbean. Our Mr. T isn't that big, but it is a pretty diverse area so you may not get them in all stores.0

Seeds to be planted may be treated with fungicides so make sure you buy the ones designed for sprouting.
So sorry, I didn't explain, although I was answering the OP's question. Perhaps sprouting seeds would have been better.:o
I am certain that garden centers sell sprouting seeds. I have bought them in the past and certainly didn't buy online. So it would have been garden centre or Wilkinsons.0 -
I got some alfalfa and mung bean sprouting seeds from our local garden centre a couple of weeks ago.
The week before that I bought some seeds from Wilkinsons - so perhaps try there too?0
