Offset mortgages

We're about to open an offset mortgage for the first time. I am just wondering whether the timing of direct debits from our account would have an significant effect on reducing our monthly payments.
For example, at the moment our combined salary paid in is around £6000. With the mortgage and other payments, we would have £3600 of direct debits and standing orders. My feeling is that it would be better to have direct debits at the end of the month.
Any opinions welcome please.
