TSB interview

Finally applied online last night for a remortgage and then quickly realised we were simply inputting basic info in prep for a phone interview. Got a call this morning and interview arranged for Friday morning.
Anyone had one of these with TSB recently? We know which product we want, our case will be fairly straightforward (he says!!), and there are no issues on affordability etc as we are remortgaging for about a third of the total amount we could borrow.
Any strange questions I need to plan for, or should we just relax and go with the flow?

I had mine with TSB around October and was quite straightforward (also after starting online like yourself), I was on the phone for quite a while as they have to go through quite a bit and read out bits to make sure you understand.
I would suggest you make sure you have payslips etc to hand, work details (salary, bonuses) etc as they asked me to re-confirm these details etc.
One thing they did then (and possibly still do) is go through it with you over the phone and if get accepted and can offer you a decision in principle they had to email the key facts information and etc to read and they then they call you back around 20 minutes after to ensure that you understand it and still wish to go through with the mortgage application.
They will also ask you about what flexibility you are looking for - i.e if you want a fixed loan, how long for and why, if you may need flexibility to over pay etc.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
Thanks. That's great, sounds fairly straightforward. I have read about some very odd questions being asked in these interviews.
How did you find everything with TSB generally?0 -

I found them good, the application process was fairly straight forward and then during the house purchase side itself they were good too, had to contact them a couple of times as i needed to advise them of a change of solicitors and also got a decision in principle slightly higher than the the offer i placed so after acceptance of my offer called them to adjust this (and that meant a slightly better loan/deposit ratio).
They also arranged for the valuation to be done very quickly, it was literally valued by Colleys (the valuer they instruct) within a few days and the valuation was updated on their systems 48 hours after the colleys valuer visited the flat.MFW#105 - 2015 Overpaid £8095 / 2016 Overpaid £6983.24 / 2017 Overpaid £3583.12 / 2018 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2019 Overpaid £2583.12 / 2020 Overpaid £2583.12/ 2021 overpaid £1506.82 /2022 Overpaid £2975.28 / 2023 Overpaid £2677.30 / 2024 Overpaid £2173.61 Total OP since mortgage started in 2015 = £37,286.86 2025 MFW target £1700, payments to date at April 2025 - £1712.07..0 -
Had the interview this morning. Very painless and took about 90 minutes in total from start to finishing full application. We only need to send over one payslip each and they don't think we will even need a physical valuation. All very good so far.
We have around three months before we want this to complete, so are using this application as a safety net. Should a better deal come up in the meantime, we will consider ditching this app. I know that means a second full credit search, so will seek advice if that should become a possibility.0
