Buying a portion of my rented home

Hello Everyone,
So, I currently privately rent a house.
The house is owned by a party of 3 people.
My Landlady has planted a seed that, as I absolutely love the house so much, why don't I consider buying a third, essentially buying out one of the 3 people (not my landlady!).
Can this be done? Can I get a mortgage on this basis? Are there other more serious legal implications that I have not considered???
Any help/advice would be very gratefully received.
With thanks,
John
