Good luck with it all. May I say that the downward spiral you are feeling right now soon changes into a pleasant uphill charge. It's a great feeling.0

Hi all,
Our DMP first payment to SC is due to be collected on 01/06/2015.
I have written to all creditors and have heard back from most but not my main bank HSBC? odd.
Tonight I have recieved a default notice from PO moneysaying that legal action will commence if no payment made or no contact but I have written to them twice and its hard to get to call them as lines close at 6 and I dont get back from work.
Im loath to email as this could start a long trail of emails but not sure what to do as never been through this before.
I refuse to curl up and hide as want to got on with these payments until my better half is in a position to get ful time work again. I dont know the processes of creditors and it is a tad worrying.
Ive had to contact another creditor to give the inc and exp over the phone but I thought this was all done by SC??
I would rather now be ore proactive than reactive.
Any advice most welcome.0 -
SC will have given them your I&E so ignore any requests from creditors for this' they will probably be trying to catch you out to see if what you have given SC is different. They will try all the tricks in the book to get you to pay more.
You should just let SC know and let them write again to the creditors. Don't have any contact with creditors especially by phone as they will just try and bully you in to paying more. Leave it with SC to deal with - that's what they are there for.
If you do happen to answer a call from a creditor, just give them your SC reference number, tell them to call SC and say that you will have no further communications with them as they should be dealing with SC and then just hang up. Don't enter in to any further conversations with them.
It will be a bit of a rocky ride for the first few months and there will be hassle but just ignore most of it and let SC deal with it.
Good luck. It does get better, believe me. I spent 5 years on a DMP so know how tough it can be at times.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Hi
Sometimes some creditors never actually write following a DMP, but effectively accept it by the fact that they don't take any further action.
It may be that your bank will send a recall notice on the overdraft once you break terms, or after a month of no activity or something.
On the PO account - on a DMP its usually good news to get default notices early.Does the default notice not say may take legal action rather than will? That is pretty much standard wording on a default notice. You don't need to respond to a default notice.
Good luck!A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
