If you don't bank with NatWest, speak directly to your own banking provider. The bank you're with know your finances well and may provide better offers for existing customers.

My MA is really nice but I don't know if I need someone who doesn't leave me days without an update, doesn't return calls until I have left a few messages, doesn't reply to emails. Basically I have to stalk him to talk to me! Then he's lovely and I trust that he will do what he needs to do. He says he will now look at alternatives but I'm worried he won't look until end of the week and we are losing time!
Since your application the estate agent has probably wheeled another 200 unfortunate souls in front of this mortgage adviser.
He does not have time to do the job properly, and is probably not incentivised to do so.
As soon as he thinks about your case, another case is put in front of him that looks more lucrative.
Seven weeks with no progress is quite frankly ridiculous. If you cannot obtain the lending you need with the deposit you have he should have told you so by now.
A new source of advice is the correct approach.

Thank you all.
I ended up ringing an independent broker last Wednesday evening and he has been FANTASTIC! came to see us after calling me 5 times for information, updates me every step (I was an emotional wreck when I rang him lol), texts to ask questions, replies to my emails same day. He gathered information Thursday, came to see us Friday, reviewed all our info Saturday and submitted our application to Santander yesterday. They may well decline us but it won't be due to lack of effort on his part!!
The Countrywide MA was a lovely guy, but far too busy and just not 'on it' enough. I would like to think he had our best interests at heart, but who knows? I am very trusting and believe in people but in the end I told him we were using this other guy. I only wish we had done that at the start, but you live and learn - this is all new to us.
I followed the link MALMO put above so very helpful, thank you. Fingers are crossedyet again lol. When life gives you 100 reasons to cry, show life you have 1000 reasons to smile0
