Comments on Heart/Capital £100 comps

Why do people put comments on Heart/Capital/Smooth competition websites like 'amazing prize' and 'brill prize' etc , when honestly, £100, is it really that amazing.
Don't get me wrong I wouldn't say no but I wouldn't do a back flip either.

It's not even *what* they comment that annoys me tbh, but the fact that they comment at all! If the method of entry is to log in, register, answer a question and then wait for random draw, why bother commenting? do they think they'll manage to skew the results of the random draw by saying what an awesome prize it is??
Similarly with FB apps when people comment at all, but particularly when they comment "entered, liked and shared" it really grates on me. Like they're saying "I entered the same as everyone else but I'm the best entrant as I pointed out what a great prize it is". For goodness sake, enter on the form the same as everyone else but there's no need to a** lick!0 -
'thank you for the chance'......of being able to reply to this topic0

Out of habit? Some wins will mean more or less to each individual depending on the person I guess. Agree with cag on this too; it is entirely pointless commenting on a radio comp. I dislike it the most when people comment saying things like 'I would love to win'.. well isn't that why you're entering in the first place? On the backflip subject I perform a backflip every time I win something, so I can't really judge on that front0

A lot of people reply to the posts on facebook so that when the winner is announced via the comments or on a separate post the company concerned can tag them or they may get a notification that says company has posted a reply too.0

I've won about 5 radio comps in the years I've been comping and not once have I commented on it! I do like looking through them and seeing what "excuses" people put on to win the comps :rotfl:Thanks to all posters :A0

There seems to be a new trend this year of commenting on comps with a huge bloomin' pic that says something along the lines of
I HAVE LIKED
I HAVE SHARED
THANK YOU FOR THE CHANCE
SHARING IS CARING
and variations there of, I assume with the intention of making their comment the most noticeable #wasteoftime2024 £72, 2023 £2230, 2022 £300, 2021 £1800, 2015 £3790, 2014 £44600 -
There are times where people post an image too - i was fed up with and tried it myself basically screaming for attention.
Ironically i won so i'm now none the wiser to if it works or not0 -
Hi i am still new so going to ask a silly question? When a twitter comp says retweet and follow is that all i need to do or should i comment on the comp as well? I see loads of comments on twitter comps and i have never been sure so i comment but if i do not have to then i won't. Xx0
