AA or RAC for Used Car Inspection

Hi

I am buying a Toyota Celica GT-Four (import) and want a full inpsection carried out. I will go for AA or RAC but am confused by the cost. The AA is about £180 whilst the RAC is about £240. There must be a difference in what you get for your money? I will call them direct of course, but I thought someone here might be more useful than the call centres?

I used the ETA car check. they are an environmental organisation and you have to join for the year but it was easy to cancel after that and the mechanic did the job for a lot less than anywhere else (although i must say not particularly happily).

next time i would be tempted to just use a local mechanic you trust to give you an opinion as i feel that might cost less and give as much information.
