I'm new to this but been reading through the threads and trying to make myself feel better by getting some inspiration but it's just not working!
I don't have a the biggest amount of debt (£4280) but compared to my income and outgoings, it feels impossible to get rid of!
I feel like I'm a hole I can't get out of but want to Sooo badly!!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
A good start is to work out how much you can afford to put towards your debts each month, and from there you can work out how long it should take to clear your debts, which hopefully will give you some motivation.
Have you tried working out a statement of affairs/income & expenditure account as a starting point?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I've worked out how much I owe and how much I earn and have to pay out each month but I'm struggling to find out the APR on each debt to find out which one I need to tackle first!DEALING WITH MY DEBTS

I would try and post a SOA ASAP, people aren't here to judge but can look at your outgoings from a fresh / different perspective.
I would also say a good idea is to keep a spending diary from now on, it doesn't have to be famcy, just what works for you. Be it an app, an excel sheet or a notebook. It's a sure fire way to see how accurate your SOA is, and find out where any funds you think should be surplus bi aren't, disappear to. Those magazines, coffees, extra couple of grocery items soon add up.
Best of luck, you'll find loads of support on here xFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I've started a SOA but it wants the APR on my debts which I don't know?DEALING WITH MY DEBTS

Hi princess,
welcome. Check your statements or your loan agreements or online accounts etc to find your APR's. Failing that ring the companies and ask them.
either way if you can't get them stick your SOA up with amounts owing and repayments and some clever people can work out roughly what the APR is sometimes.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000

Hi, here's the link for you, you can post it as soon as it's done and change it once you know what your APR's are. I don't think anyone gets it totally bob on first time!LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -
Even the smallest step can lead to the biggest change.
The trick is to not put so much pressure on yourself. Yes, you've gotten into debt. But you're still alive, you're still breathing and you still have the ability to change. This will be one of the toughest, but most enlightening experiences of your life. Grab it by the horns and just go with it. Don't be afraid.
Don't expect yourself to do everything and magically be out of debt overnight. It doesn't work like that I'm afraid. I joined this site god knows how many years ago with 16k debt along with my husband. Fastforward to 2015 I'm a divorcee with 1.2k of 0% debt. It was hard, there were arguments and sleepless nights, there were times I didn't know what to do, but each of those times you just need to look for the next small step and just keep going.
You can do it. There is no debt problem that can't be resolved. It might not be easy, it might not be pretty, but your life will change for the better eventually. This is just page 1 of your new chapter. Expect a few plot twists along the way.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
