Pedometer

I have just been sent a free pedometer (a normal one) and I was wondering the best place to wear it on my belt.
Front, side or back?
I had it on the front today and it registered 2.4km when I know that I did almost 5km.
There were no instructions with it and I can't find a way to set stride length.
Anything?

I used to have a pedometer which I wore somewhere between the front and side, almost on the hip bone. I don't know how well it did for accuracy there but I found if I wore it on the side it kept pinging off and if I wore it on the front it would dig in when I sat down.
It never occurred to me to wear it on the back but that would probably be the least obstructive place. To be honest, if it was free it's probably not going to be amazingly accurate anyway.0 -
I have been fiddling with the settings and I think that I have it set more for my height & weight now, I will try it out again tomorrow0
