Affordability reduced - boyfriend classes as dependant?

Every case is different but Me and my partner applied for a joint mortgage with NatWest, to end up being declined. Then our broker Chose Newcastle BS. We originally applied joint again but due to lack of evidence for myself they allowed us to change to a sole application. I thought initially I would become a dependent as I'm unemployed and caring for our 11 month old daughter. It didn't affect our offer at all, but I signed a consent to mortgage form. So I would advise you put Newcastle BS forward to your broker or approach them solely.. Plus we never paid had to pay arrangement or valuation fees. which was a bonus after loosing out because of previous decline
