Car insurance confusion

Hi, I took out a new car policy the other day but now I think I might have made a mistake with the assumptions bit

tick I haven't been declared bankrupt or have any unsatisfied court judgements (e.g. CCJs).

I looked at it and thought it would be ok because I am discharged now but now I'm thinking maybe it means 'have you ever' even though it doesn't say that grrr.

It all went through ok and they have set up monthly payments but I am very worried now.

At least I am still within the cancellation period and the cover hasn't started yet, hopefully they will let me cancel if it's a problem but what does everyone think?

It's very confusing isn't it. You read it one way & it looks ok but then you put a different interpretation on it & means something else!

If it was me, I would ring them up & ask. It's better to be safe than have a claim & find your policy is null & void.

  • So I phoned tesco car insurance and it was a problem  she was able to click through for more details on her screen and it said for monthly payments you had to be discharged for over 3 years, anything less and you would need to pay upfront. Oh well, at least I was able to cancel.

Sorry you couldn't get it but you didn't lose your money at least. I don't know who accepts BR on monthly payments. I have always paid a year upfront for mine even before BR. Hope you find something.
