Keratin Treatment/Water Softener

I am looking at getting a water softener installed in the next couple of months. I realise that it uses salt to soften the water, and when I google I get mixed reports of how it will affect my Keratin hair treatment.
Some salons put that the salt amount is so small it wont be an issue, others say you need to put a shower head filter on your shower head to get rid of the salt. I have looked at shower head filters, they mention getting rid of chlorine/heavy metals and bacteria but no mention of salt.
Does anyone reading this have a Keratin treatment and use a water softener, I would be interested to hear if it affected your treatment.

I don't use a water softener but live in Scotland in a very soft water area and don't have any problems with my keratin treatments. I have been getting them for at least 5 years and get it done twice a year. Every time the hairdresser says that there is still keratin left in my hair.If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0
