Hi Everyone,

I don't post much on here but I have been reading for many years. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the positive people on this forum because you've helped me stay focussed in my debt free (change your life) quest.
As of today, I am debt free from being more than £16000 in debt 2 years ago.
I actually wouldn't say I had a particular LBM. Not one I can remember anyway. I have been lucky enough to be in a position where I could always pay my bills and not get into any sticky situations. I take my hat off to those who were/are in a worse position than I was and still managing to pay back their debts.
The one thing I would say though is that I was actually glad that I was in debt. Because it has made me totally change my mind set and now I have a completely different outlook on money. When I started my debt free journey, I didn't instantly change, it took a while to gather momentum. But that worked for me. Now I'm a well oiled financially efficient machine!
I do a unique budget every month, I buy only what I need and now I'll be saving for my future and overpaying my mortgage. A year ago, I sold the car and loads of my things. I feel great and don't feel at all deprived of anything. The most important thing for me though is I now appreciate everything that I do have and spend more time on the things I love to do. I also now see people in a different way. I hear how they talk about money and things they 'need' and instead of agreeing with them, I now challenge their thoughts and if I can help just one person in my life improve their financial situation, I'll be happy.
Anyway, again it's just to say a huge thank you to everyone and all the best to those who are still on their journey or about to start :D

There is no such thing as 'rubbing it in' here. We are all on the same path and we are all trying for the same goal. Stories like yours are akin to watching someone leave the prison gates. You've made it. You are free. We will join you soon, but until then, it keeps us motivated and focused.
