Apologies for previous rant. Just not sure the benefits of going on a forum and asking for advice on money where 50. Of the people offering that advice are saying 'be better with money'0

you're being hyper-sensitive, all the above posts have been helpful and constructive.
Perhaps you should re-read them in the spirit they have been given rather than thinking you are being attacked (which you are not!).Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

I agree with this.
You sound like your budget is mostly on track for everyday spending, but doesn't seem to be capable of allowing you to repay your debt or save at the moment. If you post an SOA people will be able to look at it neutrally and give advice on things that you may be able to save on that you hadn't realised.
If you don't want to share that information, that's fine too.
Many people in this forum have learned the hard way that a consolidation loan is not always the answer and often results in a worse situation instead of a better one. The level of debts you are talking about are not huge and can probably be shifted to lower rate cards but you still need to be able to eventually make a dent in them.
Without more information about the current interest rates you are paying or your current income and expenses, it is difficult for people to offer specific advice to your situation. If you don't want to share the latter, then the APRs at least would be a start to give an idea of what options might work better for you.0 -

If you have a budget then stick to it and it will be paid off.Joyceyjohnson wrote: »Apologies for previous rant. Just not sure the benefits of going on a forum and asking for advice on money where 50. Of the people offering that advice are saying 'be better with money'

Hi Joyce,
i am really sorry that you feel that way. I can only speak for myself and say that my comments were meant to be helpful and friendly. If i haven't conveyed that then perhaps thats my fault.
We are almost all on here to get help and to share our experience with others. Most people on here are friendly and supportive, but yes we do have opinions on how people handle their money and how they plan to get out of debt, some (not me!!) have great experience in shifting huge debts and can be well worth listening to.
Please don't give up on the forum, if you can get past this, you will find a huge support system on here.
