Part time mature student loan

Hello
Hello Posts: 358 Forumite
I hope someone can help. I am trying to find a student loan, which I am very happy to pay back at whatever point is deemed suitable however I am having problem because of the following:

I have already gained a psychology degree with the Open University although not had any student loan associated with that.
The new course I need to take is with a private college, not a university.
I will be studying part time
I am a mature student

I am very confused as I don't think that I can apply for any kind of loan but really want to continue with the training for a new career.

Any ideas? Thanks for reading

  • What qualification will it give you?
If you are studying part time can you not fund it from salary?

you won't qualify for a normal student loan as you already have a degree, irrespective that you didn't have a loan for that.

Ask the college, they must have an idea about finance.

Hi! I am working for the company called Scam Finance and we do provide loans to part time students and second degree students in the UK. Since I don't know what private college you are going to study at, I can't confirm that you will be eligible for our student loans, but you can visit our website, fill in application form and we will be in touch with you. Hope that helps!

OP dont respond to this scammer plz.

Thanks for your replies. It's a counselling qualification, I only knew I wanted to do counselling part way through my psychology degree but wasn't going to give that up at that time.

It's a shame there isn't anything out there for mature students to retrain in a new career.

The college doesn't do loans that help with the whole lot, just very sought after bursaries, and now I know why!

Have you looked to see if the course may qualify for a career development loan?
