Heart is cheap and very nutritious and you can ask them to dice it for you.

Try MuscleFoods online. They have some great offers and the meat is far superior to supermarket. They do veg too. http://www.musclefood.com/

PM me if you want a code which will get you a pack of chicken breasts or steaks free ;)

I'd second muscle foods if you have space for an order; we regularly buy 5kg of chicken breasts - all are a good size with mini fillet attached so one does both of us (great considering bf is a professional athlete and has to have plenty of protein) and our one year old for a meal. We also regularly buy the bundles they have on offer (we just got the grill and griddle pack for £10) as well as fish and other bits and pieces depending on what we fancy/how much we are feeding all three (or just me and baby as bf travels a lot).

Personally I do think you need to go and speak to a dietician through your GP; especially if you are cutting out carbs for a truly medical reason. They can give you a number of alternatives and as others have said advise about budgets etc

Also, I think key for you will be investing both time and money in your food. Plan ahead, bulk buy and cook then portion up and freeze (even if you only do it for a week at a time). Spending more on a larger piece of raw meat which you can cook your own way, slice/portion and freeze feels like a lot of money and effort at first but then when you can still be eating from it a week later you see the value.
