metro bank

this has been good, we have a new metro bank near where i live ,
i went in and opened a cash account , they gave superb service , even ask ya if ya want a cup of tea while they do it , anyway all went well, didnt even have to mention BR as its a no credit account ,
opened my online and phone app while i was there ,
thing is no standing orders or dd , but they give you a debit card when you leave the bank then show you how to work the cash machine so you know all is well ,i have a basic barclays account that do have direct debit and standing oreders , but cant get internet banking as no matter how much i tried i couldnt get an appointment , they said may , then june for an apointment , seems like they was stalling and didnt want to know , , but now i can use metro online to transfer money to Barclays, for standing orders and direct debits , and what ever is left in metro is my cash , cool eh ,
my thoughts are , even if you have to travel a way to open a metro account , when its done after that its all online , works perfect so far .
hope it helps some of you :)

I got a metro cash account when I was still bankrupt, it was pretty cool to have contactless at last :j the only thing I will say is that they are not great with faster payments, they only send / receive them once an hour, I think it's at quarter past unless they have changed that! I got caught out by that before I realised, I felt a right idiot after I had excitedly transferred the money in then used contactless only to get declined :(

It's a great idea to have a separate account just for spends though, good luck with it :D

Edited to say, I would persevere with trying to get an appointment with Barclays, there online banking is really good even if you have to wait till may or June for the appt it will be worthwhile.
