Tell mortgage lender truth about rented address (which has bad credit history)?

Hi all,
Question about applying for a mortgage, problem is rented flat has bad credit history.
Because of this my bank account is registered at my brother's house (where I was previously staying) and my husband has his bank account registered at his former home address (where his parents still live).
The only bills we have coming to the flat are the necessary - gas, electric, water, council tax. Everything else goes to the other addresses.
I've done an Experian credit check on myself, putting the address down as my brother's house, which comes out as excellent.
We want to get a mortgage but I'm wondering whether it's better to tell the mortgage advisor that we currently live in the separate addresses? I don't want to get turned down for a mortgage based on a rental property with bad credit attached to it (that's nothing to do with us). We already have few mortgage options as we're both self-employed, although we do have a large deposit.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Many thanks,

If the bad credit is nothing to do with you it is not your problem.

Credit history isn't attached to houses, it's attached to people.0

Addresses don't have their own credit history, so you've been worrying about this for nothing. Get your correct address details on your accounts and relax.0

People say they don't, but some companys do have do not deliver addressesDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

In the UK, there is no such thing as address blacklisting with regards to credit. If a company won't deliver to or consider an address due to fraud, that's nothing to do with the creditworthiness of an individual and is an internal process that company has based on some other data / evidence.0

Have you registered on the electoral roll every year?
Lenders will consider any form of lying on application forms as fraud and will treat it as such. If this was to happen you'd find yourselves blocked with all the major lenders who are members of the Council of Mortgage Lenders.0 -
