Mortgage underwriters Help!?

Options
Hi everyone. We need a bit of help in January we got a mortgage promise from Lloyds bank, we found a house put an offer in long story short the bank have had to send the application to the underwriters we got a call from the advisor yesterday asking to explain 2 defaults on my partners credit file and 1 on mine which we did and we were told we would get a decision back either today or monday so my question is this if they have given us chance to explain the defaults is this good like there is still hope or just standard procedure? I am holding on to a tiny glimmer of hope that if it was a no they wouldnt ask for us to explain! :( thanks

Three defaults and you are trying to get it through Lloyds?

    Did you approach them direct?

    hi :)

I have a default on my record and mine has just proceeded to valuation stage, but I am with Natwest. So there is a little hope. Do either of you bank with natwest?

    When are the defaults dated?

    When were they settled?

    How much are they for?
  • Hi Georgiecoh no we dont bank with natwest i bank with hsbc and he banks with Lloyds.

Hi Trugelmir two defaults are from 2009 when my partner was made redundant and one from 2010 but this is for a current account with halifax that hasnt existed since 2009. One was settled early this year but 2 of them we didnt even know were there until the bank informed us yesterday so we did our own credit reports and alas there they were so we paid them yesterday and in total came to 2100 thanks.
