Hi all
I have applied for mortgage/homeowner loan with hsbc.
Ltv borrowing around 45% to build s new garage conservatory/extension etc
Applied approx 1 week ago online, survey done and mortgage offer recieved online today.
I accepted the offer today. Just wanted to know approximately how long does it take post this for HSBC to release funds to me?
I already bank with them? As not purchasing a new property and just releasing equity for home improvements does it take as long?
Thanks

Did the same thing and within one week had an offer which I did accept online, the offer was valid for one month only, three days later had a call from underwriter requesting new documentations which I sent, one week later had a call from another underwrite to say the will not be able to lend and my application has been cancelled. Now I am confused as I thought the offer is the final step. Anybody had similar thing.0

HSBC are famous for letting people down during the process, it seems their underwriters make decision depending upon what kind of day they are having.
Just to echo what honey123 highlited, I applied for the mortgage with them 3 years back, after going through the long winded process they offered me reduced mortgage amount, unsure what they were expecting me to do with the shortfall. Anyway declined their offer and found another provider who were willing to offer me the required amount.
I took three year fixed product with the alternative provider. My product was coming to an end so I thought of going back to them. I felt confident going back to them as my financial situation has improved considerably in the past three years and the amount I was requesting was reduced considerably due to prompt three years repayments, beside they were offering a product which met my requirement.
Again went through the long winded process, API went well and the mortgage adviser was confident that my application would pass with flying colours (LTV 50%) and was sure that application did not even need to go to underwrites. Anyway despite the assurance it was turned down, the adviser could not explain the real reason just a blanket statement that the application failed the affordability test, we were both at loss to understand that bizarre response.
Recently I did bit of research on HSBC mortgage lending and concluded that they are very picky who they choose to lend but when they do it does not take long.0
